For three days, August 14-16, the Crypto.com Arena and the LA Convention Center turn K-pop. This year's theme is "Walk in SOUL CITY". The M COUNTDOWN concerts are the headline, but for cover dancers the real heart of KCON beats elsewhere — the DANCE STAGE. 1) Point choreography taught by the artists — Artists teach the signature moves of their own songs. For cover dancers who have replayed YouTube tutorials hundreds of times, it is a rare chance to learn from the source.
2) Cover dance challenges — Audience-participation challenge stages. Teams that came prepared get stage time; everyone else gets a reality check on how good the global cover scene has become.
3) Random play dance — Songs play at random; if you know the choreography, you run out and dance. The only rule: go even if you are not perfect. Getting caught on camera is part of the fun. Check the songs that keep showing up in setlists at Cover Songs before you fly.
The M COUNTDOWN lineup features boy-group powerhouses like NCT 127, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ZEROBASEONE, TREASURE, P1Harmony, JO1 and &TEAM, alongside fourth- and fifth-generation groups like ILLIT, izna, MEOVV and ALLDAY PROJECT. Three things to watch:
